Well, mine has already been done by him. Hopefully I'll be able to get him to tweak it.

Any tuner can make the AC and reverse lockout work in a b-body...TunerCat added the necessary stuff in the software probably 7 or 8 years ago now. The tuner just needs to know where to look.

I'm happy to tune an LT1 for anyone local to me...as radical as it gets, I'll gladly do it.

That said, I also recommend Alex at PCM Performance. He does excellent work, and cares about making it right more so than anything else. Reputations build themselves when you do that...there's no need to get a big head.

I've seen a lot of PCM4Less recommendations and personally know people happy with tunes from them.

Solomon did an initial a la cart tune, and I sent back for further tweaks as my set up changed. Very happy with the whole process and results of his tuning.

Just another option out there that doesn't get mentioned a lot. I liked the fact that he offers to help you learn to tune yourself, and has several options for tuning based on convenience and comfort level with the process.

Ok, does ANYONE have a direct way to contact Bryan Herter? I don't think he is at/with PCMforless anymore.

Good to know Ion isn't the only one who can do this. Two years ago when I got my T56 tune, the reverse solenoid A/C functionality seemed difficult to obtain.

I did convince Ion to "tweak" his tune for my Ellwein engine, and had it put in a spare PCM as well just because...

I guess I have Ions last LT1 tune.

I'm sure I'll need more tuning sometime, and I'm glad that there are other options.

I would think (hope) that over time tuners would take the best parts of each other's work and continue to improve the overall "base tune", although I do understand that each engine, especially built or modified engines, are different.

Finally got ahold of Bryan and got enough info and just shipped my PCM to him.

I made contact with Bryan and he told me that he does all the Dyno tuning at various shops and that Keith answers all the phone calls and does all the programming.

I received my PCM back from Bryan and I have a question. Is it going to hurt anything if I install the PCM but don't change my t-stat to the 160* right away that it was programmed for?

Fans programmed to work with a 160°F thermostat while the engine uses either a 180°F or a 195°F will be on CONSTANTLY until the error is corrected, either by installing the thermostat that was programmed for, or rewriting the program.
Doing so for more than a few days amounts to a torture test of the fan motors, relays, and wiring; next comes Gary's Innovative Wiring 9C1 Fan TSB Harness.

You can:

• ask Bryan to adjust the fan thresholds for the 180°F tstat after he names you his price
• find someone local with TunerCAT/TunerPro to adjust them after they name you their price
• install the 160°F tstat, so long as your winter does not involve temps below subfreezing

I had Bryan tune my car at this years Nats. I couldn't be happier with all he did. The car just responds better, the shift feel is so much better, and drives smoother and cooler than before. He also tuned out some of those pesky problems that may pop up on an aging vehicle.

+1. He tuned mine as well. Car seems to respond better, shifts good and firm and he managed to clear up my car running pretty rich.

EGR, EVAP, rear o2's (converters), air pump, and VATS.

Well I certainly hope he hasn't tuned those out of mine since I told him I live in California and i'm required to have emissions testing and of course any one of those other than the A.I.R. not working will fail me.

I doubt he would have tuned any of those out without you asking him to. I think they keep a copy of the tune they send you, so you could double check with them if you're worried.
