I don't have the front adapters yet. I wanted to make sure that I have everything all setup with what I am going with in the brakes and then get the adapters right. As the Hub is going to play a key role in the adapter thickness.

Not sure on the rotors I will shoot some pics of them today/ tonight so that you can see if they are. In most regards I am betting that they are just mold copies of the originals.

Thanks Bob it is getting there, but it is a what piece to get from whom type game now. I could make my own hubs, but that pushes the track width out to the point were the spacer/adapter for my rims would be too short. I have another idea I am working over in my head right now, but not sure if that one will work.

I will have to get into that a little later, but I am moving right along :)

Thanks man, yeah it is coming right along for sure.

I went ahead and ordered the hubs and front brackets from Tobin @ Kore 3 last night. It makes sense and really making my own and dinking around with making brackets for the front, wasn't worth it. I could of had the hubs turned out of original rotor/hub assembly, but damn the junkyards around here wanted 35 bucks a piece for rotor/hub assembly, then to "borrow" my buddies lathe was going to cost as well.

Hey Ken,

I haven't received the hubs yet they will be here Thursday, according to Fed Ex. Is this something that I missed that I am going to need to set them up correctly? I would assume that Tobin would of put them in there for this, but not sure.

bearing play is set like stock ones, afaik I dont think kore offers a preset bearing option.
there is a washer assortment to set up the caliper so its centered over the rotor.

Ok figured I would update what has been going on, I have the front dismantled as you can guess by the pictures above. I ordered Tobin's hubs, I could of done all of the farting around trying to make something work having to measure measure and measure again for something that has already been figured out. Since I saved on the rotors, I went ahead and purchased the HD hubs for our cars, and the front brackets.

I also picked up a mock rearend this evening, that will most likely end up in the car as mine that is in there has some issues, doesn't do anything drastic, but this is a lower mileage unit that needs to be cleaned up a bit, thanks Mike (94MSP9C1)

Hub's will be here Thursday and I will most likely have everything for the front complete this weekend sometime, I would imagine anyway. May replace the brake lines, all of them, they are crusty and well I just don't feel like dicking with them, waiting on a call back from inline tube about that. Have some parts on order for the rear setup, that crossing my fingers should work. :) Trying to get a hold of a plasma cutter so I can hack up my frame rails in the back, so I can get the adapters on order. Can't move a car with big fat brakes on it, that needs at least an 18 inch wheel ;)

Shim kit

Mhttp://www.impalassforum.com/vBulletin/showthread.php?t=236934&highlight=Kore3ike,
This thread has the info on the shim kit.
I put it on my HD12 kit from Bill last year. It is more time consuming to set up than the standard GM procedure but it think it provides a more solid feel.

No need to be jealous, I just have the ability sometimes to find some great deals on things, I sold the Baer Brake setup that I bought at an EXTREMELY great price, for a little more than I purchased it for yesterday, I have to go ship that out pretty quick. So I am feeling pretty good about that.

Also I have to have something new or wanting to try something out on my cars ALOT, it sucks :)

I find it overly crazy that you find time in your schedule to be doing such time consuming projects on your car. Especially with the patience it takes getting each project done to perfection... Wish you lived closer!:D with it being spring break and closer to summer... my job has been giving me alot of extra cash. Money to be dumped into the B-body... Still admiring the digi. HVAC, just not willing to trust my wiring with such a project!

interesting, I vaguely remember that thread altho I dont remember seeing anything on kore3's site about it.
big trucks been using various forms of that for the last 30 years, usually supposed to torque the spindle nut to 350 ftlbs :D

Hub's will be here Thursday and I will most likely have everything for the front complete this weekend sometime, I would imagine anyway.
Im pretty sure theyll include the instructions on where to cut the spindle, I used my dewalt 18v sawzall with a metal blade then smoothed the cuts with a power grinder and sanding disc.
if you paint the spindles be sure to clean off the paint at the contact points where the adaptor brackets bolt on, iirc thats also where the centering washers should go.

Yeah it is tough, but I don't sleep much either and I have a detached shop/garage ;)
