Cold Air vs Ram Air for a daily driver, your thoughts?

Realistically all a ram air intake gives you is cold air.

What ram air intake are you talking about?

There is an SLP ram air hood/intake system that makes a 270* turn before the throttle body. It will not be as efficient as a simple CAI.

There are also ram air intakes such as RAISS and SSRI where the air goes straight into the throttle body. Those work very well.

I was thinking along the lines of a RAI sitting in the engine bay and getting heat soak, as apposed to CAI being routed a little further to get colder air.

There is no such thing as ram air for cars.

Which is why i prefer to use poly in lieu of aluminum.

RAISS Kit, straight into the throttle body, No need for a Ram-Air hood either.

The CAIs are less expensive, esp if you make your own, but i think Id Rather have a RAISS or SSRI Kit, well esp since i have a Ram-Air hood itching to be installed
