The bolts that hold the front caliper on my 94 look like standard allen-wrench type heads but a buddy of mine said GM uses some sort of special size. Is this true? Before I get into a brake job I want to make sure I have all the tools necessary. Long walk to the parts store.

They sell the large allen wrench for the disc brakes at the parts store (autozone, napa, etc.) and I think there is a allen head socket available for this also. I have had my "brake" allen wrench for years and it has fit all my GM products (1979-80 Cutlasses,1989 4-wheel disc IROC, 1996 Capriceses)

...I paid 5 bucks for a 3/8" drive socket! Works great and is fast...!

Just go to Advance Auto (or wherever) and get an AmPro 3/8" hex bit socket for your 3/8" drive ratchet. It's part number T33621. S2 alloy steel, industrial quality, lifetime warranty. My allen wrench was a cheapo that started to round, so I got the AmPro. Only cost a few bucks.

I just bought one last Saturday at Pep Boy's for $2.99, it's a 3/8 inch.

I thought I had one but after searching this great forum, I knew what I needed
