Now this is just a question.
I am only asking.
If this is possible.
Would there be enough manageable clearance to move the timing cover out of the way to the side, with out having to pull the crank hub? Yes, everything else, like the damper, will be off.
Could it be done?

it probably can be done but you will definetly mess up the hub seal in doing so which will then mean that you will need to pull off the hub in order to take out old seal, besides why would you cam swap and not add a new front hub seal.

As stated, no for one the dowels that position the timing cover will not allow the clearance plus you would probably mangle the seal.
