I have just bought a 96 SS and it only has the standard AM/FM/Tape system. I'd like to put a CD player in the car, and don't want to use a portable player w/the cassette adapter. Can anyone tell me the best way to put in a CD player??? Do I need to replace the current radio with a CD player??? Can a CD changer be installed easily??? Where is a good place to have it done?? Can it be done easily on your own??? Any info would help. You can email me at [email protected]

Thanks

YES YES YES YES YES

if you have a stock delco am/fm/tape which looks like this:
delco am/fm/tape on ebay pic is there

you can control a CD changer with that. I'm not sure if a 6 disc changer will work but a 12 disc will for sure as that's what I'm running in my car.
for a pic of the changer go this thread.
go to this thread, and then click on link either mouning spare tire or my 94 caprice pics

Sorry for not giving you exact link, I'm trying to open up the correct photo album but for some reason it's slow now.

Read this as well, this explains it all in great detail.
