i'm looking for a measurement on a FWB, from the front edge of the front doors to the center of the front wheel, on a level plane(ie - if the center of the wheel is 12" off the ground, i'd like to get the measurement off the door from 12" above the ground level).

reason is, i'm finding conflicting posts concerning the difference of front fenders when bolting the fleetwood front clip onto non cadillac cars. already have the caprice to get a measurement from.

25 1/16" from front edge of door to center of front wheel at 12 3/4" off the pavement, which is how high the center of my front tire is from the ground.

Good luck

thank you very much, now i get to run out in the snow and measure the wagon.

i'm hoping maybe i can find a complete FWB front clip at a yard and make a caddy wagon. my car got hit today and wiped out the pass. door and fender and the hood already sucks.

arr. looks like there's 2" more on the caddy front end, just like my 79 D-body deville vs a boxy B body.

guess it's just going to be another boring wagon SS clone.

There's a pic floating around (mayhaps PS) of a pink "B-wagon w/ FWD Clip".

yeah thats the one i saw. i'm sure its real because i've seen it from several angles and it all lines up, but i'm wondering if they went with the flat color paint to cover up the bodywork necessary to take those 2" out :D

Awe cmon Pat. I've seen your old chebby pics. You're obviously an experienced sheet metal cutter and paster.

Don't let 2" scare away THAT easily!
