Looking to get my 80 2 door back on the road after being neglected for a few years. Will be swapping in an SS rear, Spohn extended arms for the rear, some cheap 17x9.5 corvettes with 275/40's. I don't want tire clearance issues, or too low of a stance that it creates driveabilty issues. I was originally thinking the 1.5" kit, hopefully that would not leave too much wheel gap. The 2"/3" kit might contribute to issues I am trying to avoid. Any experience with either? Thanks

Ya looking at it again a bit closer I guess it doesn't make sense to run the extended arms. The wheels are pretty centered with the top of the arch. I initially thought it would help center a bit more in the opening overall.

That's what i remember from my 82. Though the trailing edge of the quarter panel pulls away a little, it matches the front.

I sent an email this morning to have that changed, luckily I actually got up at a decent time for work. They changed the order to stock length, and I already received a tracking number. Still a little unsure on which springs to go with. I emailed Canuck a while back and the springs are the same for the 1.5" drop on the SS's and Caprices/b-body's. From my understanding if I used SS springs you get about a 1" drop. Maybe that's because they are used springs? If I go with the 1.5" I can cut the fronts if need be later. Not much I could do with the back. If I go 2"/3", I'm worried that might be a bit low, but maybe I could use spacers of some sort?

I ordered the 1.5" Impala SS kit (although I was told before they were the same springs as the Caprice 1.5"). Thought in case they weren't low enough I would have an easier time re-selling them. Although they don't have any numbers on them, or much info from the box. So it would be next to impossible to decipher from looking at them what they're for. None the less I had to see how the rear dropped. I did a crude measurement from the top of the fender to the center of the axle just with a tape. 17.5" before, and a little less than 16" after. Although not terribly accurate it gave me some sort of idea. The new coils are a little less than 4" shorter than the stockers as well, so initially I thought it would be too much drop. So I'm sure they will settle over time as well. Once I get the corvette wheels coated, and get tires mounted I can get a better feel for how the overall look will be. I didn't bother with the fronts as I'm trying to see if I can find a 5x5 upgrade locally to do the front end.



Also got the spohn upper and lowers. Great packaging, fast shipping, nice looking products.
