I found a deal on a Phoenix Gold XS6600 amp. I bought 2 Kicker Comp10 subs, and my Sony head unit has the 3 pre-amp outs so everything should hook up pretty easily.

I have question for you 'Pros' out there: Do I need a capacitor too? If so, what size?

The 'Certificates of Performance' show the actual output of this amp to be 327 Watts RMS(bridged) to the subs, 204 WRMS to the front, and 205 WRMS to the rear channels.

Also, does anyone have any opinions of Phoenix Gold amps? Should I expect problems?

Thanks for any advice.

No, you do not need a cap. The only time a cap is needed is when lots of power is present or you are doing 'burps' for sound competition. Now a cap would clean things up and you might even here a little sound difference but is not necessary.

just to respond, the pg amps are really good. i ran a xs2200 for a while at 2 ohms, and never had a problem. they make really good stuff, but they do get expensive.
