my car warms up and cuts off and wont start back up the car turns over but wont start ive got a code 42 and 36 ive got new opti spark new ignition module ignition coil and fuel pump anf filter can figure out problem 1995 impala ss

My guess is the ignition module fails when hot. (code 42 is ignition module, code 36 is resolution signal)

It seems crb78 stated he installed a new ICM(Ignition Control Module).
If this is true, when you removed old ICM, did you thoroughly clean bracket's mounting surface[of old Thermal Grease]?
Be sure to scrape all old dried Thermal Grease from mounting surface, then wipe clean with Alcohol wettened rag.
And did you apply a nice even coating of fresh supplied Grease to backside of new ICM, before screwing it in place?
Included in new ICM's box, should have been a small packet of Thermal Grease.

Failing to apply coat of Thermal Grease to back of new ICM, will cause it to overheat & fail prematurely. =
And the two small screws that secure ICM to bracket should be tight. But, be careful, they're easily stripped if overtightened.

Could this indicate faulty signal from Opti?
Recently a couple members here have posted with issue of faulty connector pins in harness that plugs into top of Opti.
Pull that connector & closely inspect male/female pins for corrosion, and/or yawning females[faulty continuity].
