I was just curious as to how we are going to number our cars for the event. I know there was mention using our member numbers but they sure are long (i.e. 4 digits). The reason I ask is because, some of us like to get some nice stick on numbers made for the sides of the car. I hope we just use our registration numbers again like in St.Louis and SSHS2. Just my .02 Thanks in advance

For the Tulsa Roundup, we will be using your ISSCA Member Number. This was the easiest way to help out the scoring database. I understand about the numbers being four digit; however, this is really the easiest for those of us running the database.

Hope this isn't too much of an inconvenience. SSee Ya SSoon!!

Troy : You can get a 1'x2' piece of magnetic material from McMaster Carr (sp?) for only about $5.....or probably locally for under $10 (I know it runs right at $10 at the local crafts store, and that includes paying the "CA markup" :rolleyes: ).

Then goto a sign (vinyl) shop and have them print out the numbers you need in 8" high numbers....6" could work, but will be a bit small.

It's also important to use CONTRASTING numbers. Having worked timing-and-scoring at more than my share of AutoX events, you eventually are about ready to throttle someone who can't make readable numbers....hell, just add a few cones (seconds) to their score and blame it on not being able to read their car numbers, and they usually understand quick


Here are the colors I'd recommend on an SS

BBB : White, Silver, BRIGHT blue (which is what I have for this year...one of the few colors that works on either car I own!), BRIGHT red, yellow

DCM : White, Silver, yellow

DGGM : White, Silver, yellow

Thanks Carla and Ed I am sorry about the multiple posts on the subject. For some reason it wasnt showing up when I clicked to add it. On a lighter note, DAMN ED I was going to use a BRIGHT BLUE myself for my numbers since it goes with the scheme of my car.

Ok, stupid question time. I can see using magnetics for the sides of the car but what about the back window? What will make the numbers stick there?

Vinyl numbers stick really well... A vinly shop should be able to do them for a few $$..

I hope the ISSCA membership number becomes the standard for the car number at future ISSCA events. It would be nice to reuse my vinyl numbers, instead of having to throw them out after one event.

Damn, he's onto our plan :D

Yes Rick, that is the plan. Buy them this year, and you'll be able to re-use them for years to come.

BTW Rick, got some more dialing in done today with the new suspension setup. Had a "higher speed" AutoX (I was doing about 78-80 MPH thru the finish lights!). I'll just say I'm pretty happy with the results :D

Sorry bout that ;). Actually, you can (barely) see the #"4" in the WRX pic in my sig....also used in my SS numbers (134).

Also don't know if you picked them up yet, but Lingenfelter has the Samco coolant hoses available.....and has a SCREAMING deal on BLUE ONLY. And unlike the other colors, they actually have the blue ones in stock!

Thanks Ed, i didn't know there were any other blue coolant hoses besides the Goodyear ones. I appreciate the info I will look into it.

Glad it's all coming together for you Ed. I will still be on 275s all around at Tulsa, TireRack is out of 315/35/17 V700s until August. :( When TireRack is out of V700s, every dealer is out of V700s.

Bummer Rick. Sure glad I got mine when I did ;). I'd guess what happened is folks "stocked up" in preparations for the SCCA Nationals in Topeka.
