I have a 95 impala ss and was driving yesterday and all of a sudden i get a steady check engine light, car seems to be running on four cylinders bogging down. Ok so i take it to the dealer and get the code pulled and its a wiring issue with the MAF sensor I guess i had a break in the wiring somewhere so the guy made another wire, light goes off ect. Ok so he pulls the car around and I get it find out that the car is still feeling like it runns on four cylinders. I had a local forum member said that the car may be in limp mode. Told me to disconnect the PCM fuse turn the ignition key on let it sit for about five or so min and then put the fuse back in and crank it up. Ok i did that still no luck? I'm lost what could it be? Also no CEL

ok i think i found the problem, the wiring harness was up against the long tubes and burned right through the plastic covering, so i wrapped the part that was burned with some thick rubber radiator hose and zip tied it away from the header, i replaced the fuse and drove it for a bit no problems so far. I also noticed that the 02 sensor wire that is running to the header was lodged in between the motor and the header, diden't burn through that but i am going to rewrap the wires there also with some therma cool tape. I'll report back if there are any problems, but seems to be fine so far, thanks for all your help again.

not from what i could see, and that was sending the lv3 from you into limp mode when the EMI fuse would blow, so hopefully that was the problem i'm going to drive it a bit and see what happens
