I try and avoid these threads because they make me sad.

I know Carl for a few years now, and he has always been good to me. I have purchased, with no regrets, TWO sets of light grey 12 ways and a Langness spoiler from him. Every transaction was a good one. Carl also sold one set of stock Impala seats for me and I got my money from that deal.

But I also know for fact that he owes Skip and Russell a good deal of money. Especially Skip. There are also people in LISST, like above, who got "most of" or "partial" orders filled by Carl that they are waiting on parts for for years.

This upsets me, as I know Carl is a good guy and had no intention of ripping anyone off. I don't know what to say except that I hope Carl can square it up with everyone who has a beef. I just think it's a pure cash flow deficit. Carl spends what he takes in on more parts and cars, and then owes people money and it gets out of hand. Carl will probably be the first to tell you he stinks as a businessman.

On the flip side, at least 3 different times I have seen Carl haul a set of seats all the way from PA to NY only to have the buyer either not show, change their mind, or not have the money.

It's a tough racket on both ends of the used parts business, that's for sure. I could never deal with it.

I just wish Carl would square up all his previous transactions because he has dinged a couple of my friends over the years. What's right is right, and at the end of the day the Big Guy upstairs settles all accounts anyway.

bill carl has also done it to me i hauled a tranny out to englishtown a couple of yrs ago as stated in an earlier post.he looked me in the eye,s and said i spent the money on parts and basically tough look.if you suck as a businessman then do not "DO BUSINESS".if i was owed car parts i would,nt let it go on for years i work too hard for my money to let someone hold onto it for a part i paid for.

I guess my story about Carl is not that bad.

I paid him to send me 2 overhead consoles that he said would match the Impala SS headliner perfectly. Well when they got here one was grey and one was black.

When I called Carl he said he would find me a grey one to replace the black one. After many phone calls and many promises that "I'll call you back tomorrow"

I'm still stuck with a black console with the display that will not wire up to our cars.

I guess this many people can't be wrong.

Be careful who your dealing with. I guess I'm lucky he just got me for $60.

Well........ I'll add to the thread here also.

First let me state that I did not contact Carl on this as I feel I got my moneies worth but I feel I didn't get what I was expecting either. So I will just put it out here to see if I am wrong in feeling so. Before the deal I spoke with Carl on the phone and he seemed like a good guy, even told me he had some problems with some other members and I felt the $$$ amount wasn't too much to risk, so I am not going to bash him because I haven't and have no intentions of contacting him as I stated above "I feel I got my monies worth".

Carl placed an add that went something like this;

FS-driver 96 mirror
The housing is fine no place in unit, black in color.

Email to Carl;
Is the mirror in good to excellent condition, operates OK .............. ?

Email from Carl;
The mirror came off a black RMW The housing needs to be cleaned or buffed out a little but it worked fine when I got it off one of my cars.

So I send him payment and he sends me the mirror promptly in a very timely manner. The item survived the trip but there was nothing protecting the item in the box no news paper.. nothing.
Now my question to you is do you think I bought a complete mirror assembly which is what I was expecting or just a mirror housing because thats all I received was a housing ......?
So you tell me... did I get what I paid for ?

Also in our conversation I told Carl I would look for some information for him on the forum and I ran across all of these;

Just to put these in front of everyone.

I don't feel I got screwed bad but I don't feel right about the transaction either, and as I stated above in all fairness I never contacted Carl about this. If I had found the negative info thats flying around on Carl earlier I don't think I would of dealt with him.

Sorry Carl but thats just the way it is. You may be the nicest guy and have all of the best intentions in the world but that isn't the image of you that the world as we know it is seeing.

After reading "SSkidmarkSS post I felt that I would be purchasing a complete mirror. There are those out there that make a living off beating others out of thier money, these are the ones that give all a bad name. I take great pride in my name and integrity and would rather loose money then cheat someone. I have experienced such characters also, though at times I have lost money, I know in my heart I own those cheap SOBs. Doesn't matter if it's a bad check, failure to ship, failure to pay or a trumped up description, it is all dishonest. What gets me hot is when someone gives me a bad check or fails to ship your item, I spend my time trying to reach them, when THEY know what they have done, they hide like rats. What ever happend to the meaning of the old handshake? However, I do thank everyone of the members that have so graciously helped me when in need, as I will also offer my time to help a friend.

his money has been sent and he has been told several times about the problems with stolen card numbers from the bank I use, mine being one of them. Had verified with bank money was sent then cancelled, then redeposited into the account. This is the first time this has happend out of the many vendors I deal with on this forum. Sorry, that in this ONE case it happened to Jerry

I say for all that feel cheated to give Carl a chance to do what he is asking and then drop it for now.

If after a reasonable time things aren't straight, then maybe the powers that be here should take action, but things do happen.

I've sold on eBay for 7 years but keep it at a very minimum because I know things can get confusing if you're the one running the whole thing.

I've only spoke with Carl once and he was very helpful and friendly and was going to go out of his way to assist me. I decided to go another route but that was before this brouhaha so it had nothing to do with this.

He's saying that perhaps he screwed up (which isn't easy to do always) so I say, give him a fair chance to make things right and hopefully be done with this.

Isn't it possible that Carls trying to sell things in the "For Sale" Section in order to square things up with you? He's allready stated on this forum that he will make good with you, Give Him a chance to do so!
