If Russell, Skip, or Quagmire want to bash the bejeezus out of Carl on here, that's fine, they are entitled to their opinions and as Carl himself admitted he has some deals he needs to settle up with. I truly hope he does. I am friendly with people on both sides of this and this is painful enough without someone who has no frickin idea what the deal is decides he will be judge and jury.
I am not sure why you are sticking your nose in so deep when you are not involved? You must be an out of work attorney? Perhaps a public defender who works pro bono to defend the rights of everyman everywhere? You must feel real good about yourself kicking people around over the internet. You have gigantic internet muscles!
Carl sent me a PM asking me for a list of all the people that I knew of that he owed parts to or money to in my club (LISST), he wants to address them as best he can. I am hoping he can settle up because to be honest Carl finds some parts that no one else has the energy to look for and he provides a valuable service to a lot of folk. I know Russell and Skip are furious with Carl, and they each have their own reasons to be upset. Carl owes them and he has also acknowledged on this very thread he owes them. So how could that be a scam? And what about all the people who have had good dealings with him?
As I said, I am not on here defending Carl, and I am not on here ripping him a new ******* either. Let's just have a fair fight. I have received some decent stuff from Carl and always as promised. Others, apparently, have not always had that success ratio. Which sucks.
But I would say there is a high enough success ratio of dealing with Carl that we can all be grownups and move him from the category of "scam artist" to the category of "has trouble fully satisfying his customers due to poor decisions made and other outside factors." Let's face it, Carl will be the first to admit he is not a great businessman. He does this part time to make a couple of bucks.
But to throw words like Ponzi scheme and to call him a ripoff scam artist about somebody you never met is just plain mean. What do you do when you log off the internet? Kick your dog and call the cops on the Girl Scouts for knocking too loud?
So in your eagerness to be 'helpful' you have removed the attention from getting resolution to getting everyone mad at YOU for exaggerating the situation completely out of proportion.
Does Carl have some deals that went bad? Hell yeah. Does he owe some money to some people? Hell yeah. Does he have some disputes that need to be resolved? Hell yeah. Does he need to work on his business skills? Hell yeah. Am I upset with Carl for owing Skip so much money? Hell yeah.
But is he public enemy number 1? Is he Osama Bin Malone? Not quite. He comes on here and stands up to the criticism and tries to defend himself. As far as changing screen names? Please...we all were here as Carl would log in, forget his password, and have to create new accts. Most of them are similarly named so let's please relax on that dead horse. For those who have been on the forum for a while, Carl would usually come on and explain to everyone what happened. Besides, isn't his real name in his sig and in his profile? He isn't running from anyone.
I just hope he can work it out with Skip and all the other people who have a beef. He owes it to them, not you! But please, easy with the exaggerations ok?
