Are you planning on a TC and gear? I dont have experience with either of those two cams, but imho the 847 will be a dog without decent stall/gear and a good tune. just my .02

Go to Bullet Cams and get one with a 110* or less LSA

You could even take a 227, 845 or HOTCAT at 110* and do better than then a 847 for the steet. With Street Cam durations tightening the LSA will giver you more torque and versitility.

847 you are going to need to rev it 6500 or more.
WHere as a smaller cam duration with a tighter lob will work better on a heavy car.

For a daily driver, I like the 503 best......but only if it's a stroker. For a 350ci, the CC-503 is arguably too much cam for a daily street-driven B-body.

If it's a 350, I'd look at the GMPP 845, the CC-502......or even the CC-501.

It's about USABLE HP & TQ......and going with a 503 or bigger will put most of your power at RPMs that you will almost never see on the street.

IMHO, of course.

Is it safe to run 110 lsa or less in a 350?I always heard 112 lsa was enough on a stock bottom end.

A narrow LSA will not effect engine durability in any manner, shape or form ;) .

Point of fact, the B-body LT1 cam has like a 109 LSA......

CC503 with a 383 but grind a 110 LSA to keep the peak powerband down. Works for me.

You get a Custom Street Cam with 110* LSA you are going to love it. Most of low end kick and keeps most of the power below 6000rpm.

You really do not want a high reving cam for the street.
o didnt want to go custom but it is what it is do u guys deal with loyd elliot for all custom cams. an is so how much will i bee lookin to come out my pocket for 1

Heck the 845 in my Caprice was a slug out of the hole, on the stock stall/gears.

The Street/strip cam in my gun sights, is a custom cam from AI... just need funds. :(

Mine was a CC503 and told them to grind a 110LSA in it versus a 112LSA when I bought it. Not too custom. You're the one who bought a 4000lb car and want to make it faster... ;)

I run the 503 in a small cube LT1 with a 2200/3.73. It isn't bad for daily driving, but it does leave something to be desired in the torque department off-idle (280k stocker felt stronger below 3000rpm). Pulls hard up top.

My set up feels way understalled to maximize the cam's potential, from a 1320 stand point.

YOU ARE RIGHT!!

Because of the weight of our cars
Adding an extra 2 degrees advance on HOTCAM Class Cam will make the engine idle smoother and more low end poke. Most cams are either Set at 3 or 4 degrees advance. Great for a 3500lb or less car.

Changing to 110* or 108* LSA will push the torque curve lower and tighter band below 6000rpm. Makes a big difference in a heavy car. Just works better for the street.

As for Stall .. 2200 is too low.
Get a 3600 stall with a modern Stator set up.
It will ROCK you Head !! Regardless of CAM..
They are just as streetable.
Drive with soft foot and the locking converter will provide near same mileage.
