I'd like to have a CD changer installed into the wagon. I would prefer something that also has an MP3 decoder as well. I've never used a changer before. Does anyone have any experience or suggestions as far as which changers are relable and have good playback? Also, do the RF modulated units have decent performance?

Thanks -

paul

I imagine you have a stock headunit? Do some research on Crutchfield.com for Universal add on Changers. They list 3 that are MP3 compatible - JVC CH-X1500RF, Kenwood KDC-CMP59FM, and Sony CDX-565MXRF. Check the features and see what you like, then check your local shops and ask opinions. Then shop around for your best price. As for RF modulation, I don't know as I have an aftermarket Changer and Head unit. Hope it helps.

My plan would be to use the existing stock stereo. Fit isnt really an issue, as there's lots of room in the wagon to do this. There are some wide variations in price on changers, just wondering if anyone has had positive or negative experience with any decks like this in particular.

I had a changer before with a the RF modulator and it sounded like crap. you are basicaly picking up the cd sound as a radio station. if I turn the volum high enugh and paid attention when I scip songs I was able to here the cd spinning noise in the speakers. of coarse this is from a few years ago I dont know if the sound is cleaner know with todays units. but if you want to keep your stock radio you dont really have much options. Im happy with my set up, just a head alpine 7994 unit with mp3 support I just put about 10 albums in one cdr. it keeps all my OG CDs at home scratch free and away from sticky fingers
