I have a '93 Caprice with its factory radio. I got a truck which came with an after market CD player. I want to remove this CD player from the truck and install it into Caprice. I will post the maker. It looks kind of slim, compared to the radio/clock unit in Caprice. Any idea if this swap is feasible, what would I have to do to make it work?

make your life easy and go to a stereo shop and buy a dash kit and wire harness for your car. The dash kit will allow for easier mounting of the radio and the wire harness is even better

just match the color wires to each other on the harness you bought and the ones on the radio you have. Then all you have to do is plug straight into the factory plug, no hardwiring or guessing at wires (if you don't have the right equipment)
just need a few butt splices or crimp caps and some crimpers/wirestrippers, screwdriver is a plus too
it's practically idiot proof...whatever wires don't have matches, just cap them off so they don't short out.

can't remember for sure, but i believe you'll also need an antenna adaptor since sometimes GM uses a mini-antenna plug.

looking at about $15-20 for dash kit, $7 for the antenna plug, and about $7 or so for the wiring harness.
