Has anybody looked into hooking up a cell phone to run through the factory speakers using the "AUX" function on the stock stereo.

The system I imagine would be a mount on the dash that holds the phone. Then a plug from the lighter for power and a miniplug or similar wire to plug into my cellphone's headset jack.

When the cellphone rings I could hit the AUX button then click the recieve button on my phone and I would be allset.

Is it possible?

Just a thought - you'd have to somehow integrate a microphone also. I don't see why it couldn't be done though. For listening to the other party talk through your speakers, I'd think you would just need an adapter for going from the headphone jack to the RCA plug on the radio. Then, maybe you could use one of those hands-free headphone/microphone kits and somehow splice the mic into the RCA adapter. Sorry I couldn't be more help. It would be an interesting project.

I've never really looked at the back of the radio, but when I hit the AUX button right now it doesn't go to blank or empty channel.

I wonder what makes that selection "active". Is it just a wire plugged in or would I have to do something else with it.

An interesting idea. This would be easier than what I am imagining, but I am concern about the near complete lack of privacy.

For example, what if I was to say "Geez this f***** just cut me off, or that was close I hope that officer didn't get the radar on me, etc."

You get the picture.
