Just a quick note to remind everyone that the scoring system for classing your car is a little different this year. The rules have been changed a bit, so you will need to make sure you go through the scoring to make sure you're in the right class.

Here's a link to the score sheet...

Thanks Chris.

What is considered a "Fuel injection revision on stock manifold"??? Would that be a injector size change? Anything else is this category?

Right, a set of larger than stock injectors would trigger this. With the general idea that anyone with big power mods should be in the Mod or Race Classes... it falls out like this:
Injectors: 2
Cam: 2
Heads: 2
Programming: 2
Headers: 1

These seem to be the "standard" changes made to a heads/cam motor.

That's a total of 9 points... which makes you Modified... even if you didn't change anything else. But you still have 10 points to play with without having to jump to the Race Class.

Maybe if I take off a swaybar....
Don't worry too much about your class.... set the car up the way you like to run it. There are GREAT drives in each class... plenty of guys get "Owned" in the stock class!!!

Last year, the guy that got 1st in Stock would have been 3rd in Prep... so there's not as big of a gap as you might think.

No, it was 21 points last year with a stock motor and I was really out-horsepowered in Indy. I was just curious how the points total changed with the new point system.

Terry : if it makes you feel any better, I think I've been in Race class from day 1 with either motor

With the stock motor in there now, I am STILL at 23 points

Ed - That's because you have been "out of control" a lot longer than I have. :D
No worries - I feel fine. ;)

My wagon has been in race class forever. I think all sedans should put 300lbs in the rear of their trunk, so they too can experience true 50/50 weight distribution in Race class.

so I added the missing body bushings to my stock Impala and put on after market sway bar end links, new Monroe SS shocks with Intrax front and back with stock compound tires. Does this only put me at 2 points because of my springs?

My reply is not an official answer, but the body bushings you put on the front could be argued that it is a "Front Suspension bushing replacement" which would then put your total to 3, still keeping you in stock class. So as long as those are the only things you have done (no catback or programming) then it looks like you are in the Stock class no matter what.

Front Suspension bushing replacement (excluding sway bars & shock absorbers) SO I thought this ment Excluding sway bar bushing replacement or shock absorbers bushing replacement. I realize that it would not put me over either way I was just wondering.

I now have a 4L80E behind my stock engine, and it's not there because it gives me a performance gain. Does it really count as 2 points?

It may not matter because I'm at 14 now, but I'm considering how I could get down to 8 points and I'm not removing the tranny. Besides, the 4L60E is still busted.

TIA
