Hello Impala Brothers,

Does anybody know where I can get some coil spring isolators? I went to the dealership but they wanted some $13 for each isolator.

Thanks,

The Energy Suspension ones are approx $6/pair thru Summit or the like. And if you get the black polygraphite ones AND lube the snot out of them, they don't squeak either.

Mags,

Are you talking about insulators for the rear springs or front springs?

The insulator for the rear spring--upper and lower end--is 10247105, which lists for $9.02, cost is $5.41, and you should be able to buy it for alot less than that. They are not very good, when compared to the Moog or other poly items available.

The front insulator (upper end of spring only) is 15597425, list $6.73, cost $4.04.

I'd find another dealer, or look in the aftermarket.

Moog has a rear spring insulator, P/N K6203-2, that costs about $3.30 each at jobber price, and is a much nicer piece than stock. Energy Suspension does have parts also--for both front & rear, I think.

I read on b-body.net that removing the lower rear isolators would improve handling due to more axle control. Is it a good idea? Would I get more squeaks? Thanks.

I left them out when I put in my SS springs and I did not notice any squeaks or added noise.

I've gone back and forth on that issue (to do or not to do the lower isolators). I'll say that the difference in handling, if any, is so subtle that I can't tell the difference. Upside is no noises either from the delete.
