Not to be funny about the group picture,cuz although as mentioned,it IS a IMPALA SS forum,..which coincidentally includes the other B-body cars,Caprice,Fleetwood and Road Master sub-groups…why not have an Impala in the forefront and the other 3 in the background (sub-groups) ? Just a suggestion that may help with the platforms that are included in the forum🤷🏾‍♂️

When the new hosts assimilated this forum into their collective several years ago now they provided at most a 5-minute window at 5am on a rainy Tuesday morning calling out for submissions of posters' rides. I was surprised but found my old Cady made the cut. I would'a liked to see an OCC or RMW to rep more platforms. But hey at least no Wimpalas got plopped in as I'm rather assured nobody coding things in at borg central would have ever known the difference.

And as I said, the old forum header was taken from a popular club on here at one of their meets and included about a dozen rides of every flavor under the sun.

I noticed my 96 caprice has always done this too

I guess my eyes see differently.

The schematics for a Caprice or Impala SS with manual climate controls show otherwise.

As do just driving the several Caprices and Impala SS I own (past and present). On a stock Caprice or Impala SS, the AC compressor will not run with the selector in the Heat or Vent positions. Temperature knob is not relevant.

AC Compressor will run in Defrost, Blend, AC, B/L and MAX.

As mentioned earlier, Caddys (and Roadmasters?) with digital climate controls work differently. Need to use the ECON mode to override this on those platforms.

I consider removing moisture from air inside a vehicle in the winter a good thing. If you want warm, humid air, go to the spa. Condensation on windshield and windows doesn't make for happy winter driving.
