Yes, it is extremely unfortunate that there are some Regions that did not receive nominations for BoD candidates. In the entire State of Florida I could not find one individual willing AND able to participate on this level.
As a matter of fact, there was a nomination for your Region, Mav, Lance Bartling.
This whole thing may be an example of one other similar incident we have had so far with the ballots. One member's ballot (maybe two, now?) was torn while in the mail and they only received one half of the ballot.
Since I became involved with ISSCA last year I have seen the club make strides to expand the channels of communications with its chartered clubs and members. As just one example, ISSCA has a yahoo group set up for the Chartered clubs with two-three representatives from each club. ISSCA has been communicating directly with each club thru this media. Yes, even about the nominations and elections. Is the communication perfected, yet? No. Is it getting better? IMHO, a definite yes.
