Anyone have any info on how much to cut of stock 9c1 springs to drop to an impala ss height? Or is it a good idea to cut them at all? I have yes and no....any thoughts? [email protected]
Fronts : cutting them 1 coil is approx 2" drop. To match SS height, you're looking at approx 3/4 coil. Cut from the BOTTOM of the spring (NOT the flat part on top)
Rears : since they are double pigtailed, they can't be safely cut.
On my wagon, before i bagged it, i clamped the rear springs. Worked awesome. Ride was still good and everything. I never saw the point of buying the lowered rear springs since i knew it was gonna be bagged. You can buy the clamps at any parts store. Buying or renting a spring compressor also helps. Other than that, it's a pretty easy job.
