A good friend just called saying he purchased a '96 Impala SS, Dale Earnhart Edition and is autographed in two places by Dale himself!!! He would like to know just how rare this beast is! All the original paperwork is with the car, from the dealer order on.

Can anyone help him find out about this car?

I'm helping because he doesn't do computers!!!

Thanks.

They made somewhere around 20,000 1996 Impala SS model Caprice cars. That's just a rough guess. I know someone here knows the exact number.
How many came from a Dale Earnhardt dealership, I don't think anyone really knows that answer.
How many did Dale put his signature on? Good question.

The number listed in the Standard Guide is 69,096 Caprice and Impala SS sedans produced in '96. The only listed number for '96 9C1s I have seen is 10,859. From the same source, Impala SS production was 41,941. Doing the math gets us 16,296 retail Caprice sedans.
