I was browsing through tirerack and stumbled across this tire? Haven't seen it before, so it must be fairly new?

Matt - This is what I got when i clicked your link:
"We were unable to find a match for the Kumho tire you selected."

I read that there will be a new tire replacing the soon to be phased out 712, but I can't remember the model designation. Maybe this is it?

So, Ed they are going to discontinue the 712s?

Here's a link to the stock size (255/50/17) Kumho SPT KU31: 255-50-17 Which is available in August.
