Been trying to get the AC situation resolved in my new (to me) wagon.
Brand new Delphi compressor works, but clutch is defective/bad.
So I get to swap it out AGAIN!
Car takes 1lb 12oz, so need 3 small r134a cans, $32.37

$9.99 12oz. can + $10 core + 8% tax = .90 an ounce or $14.4 per lb.

Actually cheap considering what a shop would charge to do this, but, what a RIPOFF!!!

Since I'll need to recharge it again, do I waste another $32.37?

NO! I go buy a 30lb cylinder for $80.99 gotta love NAPA sometimes. That = $2.70/lb or .17/oz.
Added bonus is I'm probably set for life on r134a...still have my partially used 30lb r12 tank too.

Can anyone buy the 30 lb tanks? Or is it dealer, resale, licensed tech, etc only?

I am certified, even brought my card, guy behind counter never said anything or even asked about it. So I'd say yeah probably can buy it w/o any trouble? This was @ O-Side store, but most have similar pricing. Though the closer store to me in Vista gave me a much higher price on phone.
