My 96 9C1 encountered a "No Start" condition recently and I traced the issue back to my 240,000 mile ignition control module. I was able to swap it out with a 94 ICM that I had in my garage and it fired right up but does anyone know why the part numbers are different between the 94-95 OBDI control module and the 96 module? I know the actual coil is different but I do not see any physical difference between the ICM's and I am assuming the electronics are the same since it fired up immediately and idles smooth.

Thanks,

Mike

In checking the list of maintenance part numbers sticky at the top of this section (a very useful tool), it shows different numbers for the (94, 95) and 96. Hey, but if it works, it works, don't sweat it.
