My digital cluster in my 94 caprice works when the headlight switch is off but when i turn the headlight switch on it goes out anybody ever had that problem or is it my wiring going bad?

Probably the headlight switch. It changes circuits when engaged.

try playing with different settings on the dim switch..if I turn mine to the very top, the dash goes out.

that thing on the left that goes up and down is the dim switch for the dash lights...turn the headlights on and play with it and see if the dash lights come back on.

lol its probably dimmed all the way, put it all the way up, one notch under the cabin lights...shud display, if not then maybe something else

If this is a 9c1, look for the "stealth" light switch. under the radio. Same behavior on my 1A2.

yeah sounds like "stealth" switch but wires must be crossed...won't do much good turning your digital dash off with your headlights oncwm3

try turning on the exterior lights then playing with the swithc

My dash lights go out when I turn on my lights but you can still see the digital gauges. I think its a switch as the dash lights were flickering before. My car is a 95 SS with twilight sentinal.

do you have one? because if you have the stealth switch, you shouldn't have a twightlight switch unless it was added later. but somthing could be fulty in your dimmer switch. the Twighlight sentinal is meant to turn your headlights on automaticaly when the sun goes down.
