I just wanted to put this out there for those of u near by.

A friend of mine and I started a CARS & COFFEE event in Pottstown Pa, 4 years ago.

It has really grown from the small lot of an abandoned Pizza Hut and the 10 to 15 cars that came out to the event that it is now with 120-150 vehicles of all sorts that show up.

I have had a few Impala owner friends showing up, including PHASST Alex, and was hoping to get more of those beautiful B bodies out there.

So here is the schedule as well as a link to our FB pages, and as often as I can remember, I will post up links for the actual fb events.

Weather looks really nice for Saturday and your only about 45min away. Front of car is still busted up from a accident last year but drives fine....consider it a "Rat Rod" for now. :smile2: I may make the ride up on Saturday and check it out. Will look for your Impala if I make it.

Cool! Maybe I'll make it out some Saturday! I still need State Inspection and stickers this year before I'm driving an hour down there hard parking like that though, haha.
If any PA guys know a nice "friendly" inspection station that wouldn't mind passing a car that may or may not have cats underneath it, and may or may not have a race seat and 6 point harness, PM me!

Same problem....sort of. My Inspection stickers just ran out and show 5/16 but I've been down this road before and drove with either old stickers (avoiding any oncoming Police as best I could) or removing them altogether and hope they assume I'm out of Delaware. It's a risk you take sometimes as the fine I believe is about $100 if caught.

Another trick is that the stickers are known to loosen up a little and peel. Mine have already started to do this and may just help them along a little >

and get to where just the 16 shows up. I know the car mechanically is fine, just can't get it in for re-inspection until I fix up the sheet metal which is currently a WIP. Emissions are a joke and usually I'm exempt since the car does not typically see more than 5K per year. I just take mine to a local Small Garage and if there is a problem, he lets me do the repairs and bring it back. Really only see him a few times a year for inspections of family cars and do all my own repairs.

Best I could tell you is to show up at a couple of garages and talk directly to them, maybe even take the risk and drive your car over just so they can take a quick look before you schedule an appointment. Stay away from places like "Good Year", Firestone" or those Chain type garages and stick with a smaller privately owned Garage. If it at least passes the sniffer test for emissions (not sure without cats) then they may be able to get it through or at least do the Safety Inspection for you and deal with Emissions later. I believe ODB1 cars will be exempt altogether from Emissions testing soon in PA.

DONT just call around as you will not get a favorable response from them over the phone. Back in my younger years :smile2:, had an 81 Z28 and wanted the Cat Converter gone and replaced with a test pipe that I bought. When I called them, the guy over the phone told me "we can't do that, it's illegal to remove the convertor". When I showed up later in the car with the pipe and mentioned about calling earlier, he said "you got the car here now?" Told him yep and he said "lets take a look". After we walked out and took a look at the car and test pipe, he said "why don't you drive it around and we'll take a look"....Wink wink :laugh:

We do a really big C&C around here every Saturday, but if I'm off one of those Saturdays, I might try to swing out. It's a 1+30 drive for me, but I work every other weekend, and a lot of my Saturdays are spent diving, so it's a little tough to make 3 hours of driving. I'd probably end up making one later in the season more than likely. And by the Sept/Oct meets, I'll probably be back on my normal M-F schedule. I still might have drill to compete with, but I'll look into that when it happens.

Be sure to bump this post when it's coming up or we'll all forget about it. At least I sure will... And plus, it doesn't look like I can find an actual fabricator for my AC, so I might not be rolling with AC for some time, which means the car won't be being driven in the summer! My buddy calls me a pu$$y and that's fine, but I like to have AC if I'm going to take the car out on a hot day and have to sit in those leather seats!

We alternate sat and sunday twice a month to try to accomodate any and everyone.
