So who's car is ready for the first race?
I just defrosted April's block that I forgot didn't
have antifreeze and froze solid back in Jan.
and luckly only the thermostat housing gooseneck cracked in half.
The ImpalaMASTER and DragCAT need water but are READY!

I am ready, just rebuilt the rear with an Eaton Pro series and new bearings.
Same motor and trans as last year but have my backup trans ready and sending off my other stroker engine to get a 30 over bore to make it a true 383. If I get a few warmer days I will get more of the black paint over the primer.

Question?? If when I bore and add 30 over pistons, do I have to have the assembly rebalanced? And if so who does it in our area?

I am planning a new cam, ST lifter, springs and thicker push rods.
May not get to it until warmer weather.
For now add an ATI balancer and basic tune up.

Going to run G/PS set up until my new gas tank arrives from Mike Harris.
Then revert to F/PS and reduce weight.

Seriously, Dan? Would you do that with your own engine? Your dentist must love replacing fillings in your teeth.

Barry, why are you overboring the 377? Is there an issue with it?

Still haven't changed the oil from the last race of last year, but otherwise the Flambe is running strong as always. Had her our recently and she still wants to go sideways when it hits 2nd gear.

Just a little loose in the cylinder. And planning on trying the the 503 cam I have with this one

Barry, I'd get some super light weight Mahle 383 pistons.
Jimmy Cox machine shop out my way does engine balancing.
His number is 301.884..

Also George Cox machine in Alexandria does balancing. I don't have his number but I think Lance does.

Barry, here's the link for .030 over forged Mahle pistons for 3.75" stroke & 5.7" rods w/a 16cc dish for 10.5 compression.

Using these lighter pistons means you can shave a lot more weight off the crank
therefore lightening up the entire rotating assembly for quicker acceleration and more horse powers! :)

Thank you both for the information, sorry to say these pistons are outside my range. Unless my current job is long term I have to watch my budget and use the funds to get to most if not all of the races this season. Still trying to work on the national event for 2016.

Can someone tell me the official address for Island Dragway.

Trying to make plans for the Nats and need to get my car transported from NY,so if I get to the Race in June,I will leave it with someone who can get it to the transporter July 22.

I can then Fly from here in July rather than hang around NY for days waiting.


Never mind,found it,thought it was closer,might have to rethink this Nats idea.
