ECIRS is proud to be the Drag Race Sponsor for the ISSCA Nationals Drag Race, Thursday July 31st, at zMax Dragway at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Charlotte, NC.
If you didn’t race at zMax last year you missed a great event at a World Class Facility. It’s a private track rental, we have the entire place to ourselves.
ECIRS kicked butt, with ECIRS racers being 5 of the last 6 bracket racers left standing with Lance Bachman winning the whole event (and gaining 93 points towards the ECIRS season standings). It’s a big turnout and a great way to rack up some ECIRS points.

You can also come and see the Impala Big Dogs go at it. Last year SSmitty ran 8.84 at 156mph in the semifinals setting a new Nationals record. This year there promises to be four 9 second or faster Impala’s, including our very own Glen “Stumpy” Koenig and his 9 BBC Green Rat SS along with John Rafteseth’s Twin Turbo SBC 8-second SS, Mike “SSmitty” Smith’s 8-second BBC nitrous huffing Caprice, and Jeff Green’s 1500 hp supercharged “aluminum LT1” SS.

We will also get our cars out on the legendary Charlotte Motor Speedway for parade laps, photo ops, and we will road race on the big oval as well. As an added bonus the car show will be at Hendrick Motorsports where Rick Hendrick himself will choose a special best-in-show and we will be able to get a tour to Rick’s rarely seen private museum/collection http://www.wcnc.com/charlotte-today/Rick-Hendricks-private-car-collection-194225671.html . Trust me, click that link!

As a final bonus, Mr. Richie Parker, one of the most amazing human beings you will ever meet, will be there with his 95 Impala SS. Talk about an inspirational guy. Wow. I was awed and humbled to meet Richie last year. Whenever you’re having a bad day, watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qiLDMBDPCEY and the best part is you can come and meet him in person!

If you want to go, please register here: www.issca.org/issca-national-gathering/ Even if you CAN’T GO, but want to be a part of the event by supporting it (and you will get a kickass t-shirt and goody bag) you can also go to the link above and register for the Supporter Package. See below for event t-shirt, it’s pretty cool. We have over 100+ pre-registered for Nats with the usual bunch of walkups expected as well.

Personally, I would register just to get this shirt! WOW! Can you say Rat Fink?

Thanks for your continued support of ECIRS and ISSCA.

Regards,
Bill

ISSCA President

Kahuna,
My Caprice has a stock block 410 ci LT1, not a BBC. Same motor I had last year that ran 8.84. Kind of wish I had a BBC though, but still having fun.
LT1 Engine

Kahuna,
But you are right, it did have a 572 BBC in it back in 2007.
Wow, thanks for shout out, really feeling the love. If I do run in the 9s it will have to be a final pass, no comp license. I think my cage cert is also out of date.

Meh, it's a private track rental. What could possibly go wrong?

Seriously though...everyone be safe out there.

Thumbed badly from my Galaxy S4 Active...
ECIRS dominates again!

We had a great turnout for the brackets, with almost 40 cars wanting a shot at the coveted ISSCA Nationals Championship.

Unfortunately with BK waiting for the winner of Mrs. SSonic v Kelly Mock we got rained out. We will finish this soon at another ECIRS event for sure.

Here are the results so Glen can update the ECIRS points, congrats to the ECIRS racers who went deep. BK, Barry G, Don Lambert, Michelle Mallory, and da Stump all went to at least the 3rd round

Lance easily wins the WTF WERE YOU THINKING award for his 2nd round debacle with Paul Troup. Seriously Lance...it's almost impossible to F UP an .005 light like that. I heard you were on and off and on and off the gas.

Missed another good race.
You all had a lot of fun and wish I could have gone.
See what will happen next year..

Hate to loss points for a clerical error, :0)
How about the autocross times, very curious how it all played out.
Thanks for all your support for the whole event and sorry i had to leave but wanted to nurse the beast home and get within my 200 mile tow range during a weekday and daytime.
Yeah, Lance, did you let off at the 1000' and forget to get
back on the gas? LOL
