Just got a reply from Andre at Edge, here is what he said....

""Hello and thanks for inquiring,

The SS forum was the smoothest GP to date and we would be happy to offer
another deal for 5 or more forum members. The pricing on the 4L60e has gone
up slightly to 510.00 and we will give the same 50.00 discount as last time
for a total of 460.00. On 7+ we will bring the cost down to 450.00 even.
This new GP will be good until the first week of January and we close from
the 22nd to the 27th for the Christmas holiday.

I'm pretty sure this will work like the last one. You send in your build/setup sheets and then put forth the money. When the numbers add up the discounts will too. More to follow as I get the information.

I hope you have some drag tires and good suspension waiting since these converters hit like a nuclear bomb off the line if you nail it.

Boy Steve, that is the truth....

Make sure you lock the ashtray closed

It use to open...now it SLAMS open

Thought the whole thing was going into the back seat

Make sure you all come back here with track numbers and opinions on these converters.

I like the sound of that!! I'm all about my ashtray coming out, radar detector falling off, knobs for climate control plastering against the back seat

Nope. Germany now. And no, you can't have fun while I can't.

The car is at the folks house in OK. Fresh 383 built and they're to lazy to ship it for me. Man these are hard times for me.

Ditto, my ashtray used to pop open all the time so I was used to it. However, after the Edge, and 1.6x 60' times, the ashtray not only pops open but quarters were actually flying out of it. After one race I found $1.25 and a roll of film on the floor board of the back seat. But don't worry, you won't notice it until the race is over because you won't have time to think about it.

If I had the chance to do this over again, I'd run at one of the tracks that doesn't require a helmet for 14.00 and higher and get in some brain spinning launches with the my new Edge. The thing I miss the most was hard launches without a helmet, I felt the Gs sooo much more then!

Called UPS and mine will be here on Monday, I guess that I am going to be working on the car after work on Monday.

My ashtray must need some lube, it doesnt move. I have only gotten to the mid to high 2.0x on street tires, but I am getting DR before next season.

Has anyone checked there tracking #? mine said it wont arrive until 1/6 but it was shipped 12/29 whats with ups I know its not edge's fault but I've never waited over a week for shipping

maybe its the holidays?

I said the same thing,
Conversation between me and the dumb UPS;
How long for ground from Simi Valley to Fresno,
1-2 days,
Why in the hell it is taking a week,
We are really busy, and that they are backed up. Then why did you say 1-2 days,
That is the average time. Damn.

That is what pisses me off.

I live about 3.5 hours north of Simi-Valley, a week to get here is a bunch of crap.

My Pro-Edge ships Wed.

It's a long trip across the country but will be worth the wait. Glad to have the word of mouth power of the ssforum. I was going to go with ATI in B-more....the company that makes Torque converter manufacturing machines.
Andre gave my $40 bucks off, (even though this GP was for the Street Edge). And like you all said, Andre is a cool guy on the phone.

Paid in full baby!! 3200 with 2.48 STR on the way. New tranny also being discussed(Probuilt most likely) so look out. Not planning to be #13 in class 6 for long!!

Edge and ProBuilt perfect together

, when Dana was doing my tranny he actually called Andre to find out the particulars of how Edge did things and what lockup material they used. That way he was sure everything worked in sync, both great to deal with.

Yep. He asked what convertor I'd be using. He only backs up his work when the customer uses certain convertor(Edge,Yank and a few others he mentioned). He does find it hard to believe the 2.48 STR that the convertor I ordered will have. And he did remember you also Dwayne. I'm either buying the kit from him and having a local guy install it or just going with his tranny completely done. $1875 isn't bad especially when you get to keep your original(no core).

Talked to Andre yesterday. Ordered and paid for 3000 stall w/upgraded lock-up friction material.

He didn't say what the stall ratio was, but said it would have decent street manners and would stall a little higher once I get into the motor.

Now for the 3.73 and BH tuning. Better start shopping for tires now!!
