I can not edit my original post(s) in the For Sale section. I need to update for sold items, and to add new items without adding another post to the thread.

The new owners put a stop to editing your old posts a few weeks ago.
Guess they really did fear people taking their info back.
Pm a mod. Maybe they will be nice enough to edit your post for you, since they are the only ones that can now.
Even if the new owner of the forum wants to keep their copyrighted information protected, it only makes sense to allow people to edit their posts in the For Sale sections. The posts in those forums are only of short-term interest to anyone. Posts in these forums should have different rules.

Can someone take it up with the admins?

Agreed. I think you should also have minimum posts to be able to sell here too!
I saw someone else post this problem several weeks ago, but I have no problems editing a post.

Edit: I am tired and did not read that very well. You are saying old post when hack still owned the forum can't be edited after it was moved to another server.

Edit #2 After searching threw my threads it looks like you can edit a thread for 60 days, after that the edit button is gone. I remember the good old days when you could change the title and even delete the entire thread that you started.
It is actually sort of kind of important that you can't go back and edit. If there is an issue or a discrepancy on an item description etc and you can go back and change history on what was promised/agreed to/item description/etc that's not good.

You guys are pretty funny with your conspiracy theories. Way off base, but pretty funny.

If you need to change a thread for obvious reasons (like Fred K) then PM a mod, it's really not that hard. A mod will help out.

Or, start a new thread referring to the old thread.

so we are encouraged to double post now?
Wolfie I'm the wrong guy to ask. As you know I'm rarely in the for sale section. It got VERY expensive for me to hang out there so I pretty much avoid it if at all possible.

Not sure why you think I'm saying you should double post and I'm encouraging it.

In certain situations where it's more than 60 days old and you need to make a MAJOR change, I think a new thread would be acceptable if a mod isn't available to change it for you. Does that happen a lot?

Later on the mod could merge them (or delete the original one) to clean house.

maybe the admin user should answer...

why the hell would we remove helpfull informaton?

what are they doing in the background
Who's removing helpful information?

What are you talking about?

no one thats what i am saying, why would they block our option to remove / edit old threads...

that is stupid
Didn't Stewart remove his old posts?

And there was a fight recently where someone claimed that the radio he had purchased from another member wasn't as advertised, but there was no way for anyone else know who was telling the truth to because the seller had removed the advertisement.
I dont see what the fuss is, says you can edit for 60 days accoring to an above post.

Who goes back and edits a post 60 days later unless you have a FS thread.

Fred needs too edit, and is realy the only person affected by this. If you need to edit do like BK said.

i have alot of post i cant edit, so he is not the only one.

Well true now that I think about it, it would be nice to have this lifted.

Lets say if I have a sticky that ive created, or a post that needs to be updated for what ever reason I should be able to change it.

IDK man. Im gone editing my original post.
Really guys, If you can't edit it in 60 days, just start a new thread. Don't make it so complicated.

Editing NEEDS to be limited in the FS section for exactly the reasons mentioned by Nick Danger. Criminals will post something bogus and then try to erase it to hide the evidence.
Personally I think that it should be a shorter period than that in the for sale section. But that's just me.
Speaking of editing, someone needs to fix the title of this thread.

I kind of like it, reminds me of beer!

This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
