Hello everyone,
I have a 96' that I'm attempting to get running right. There are vacuum lines from the egr to a part that I don't know the name of. There's a vacuum line coming from my fuel regulator going to a part on the passenger side of along the fuel rail. I need a diagram to show me these lines routed. Can anymore assist me?
Additionally, what's the advantage of eliminating your egr and air pump.
The line running from the FPR goes to the passenger side of the intake manifold to a fitting about a little less than half way up from the back of the manifold.
Going by memory, the two lines coming from the EGR, one goes to the EGR control solenoid, and the other goes to a fitting on the side of the manifold under or over the fitting for the optispark vent harness (about half way up the manifold, drivers side, by the brake booster hose).
Deleting the EGR has no real benefit other than not having to mess with the EGR tube fitting if you have headers that don't have a good provision spot for it like my Borlas. I deleted my EGR and saw NO negative effects though, and bryan herter assured me I wouldn't get any (no decreased gas mileage). It, along with the AIR pump isn't really a performance mod...just something to eliminate clutter and leave less parts to break.
