Check all of the grounds. Engine noise through the speakers is most commonly caused by bad grounds.

hmm, this also happens when the power wire and rca's are ran down the same side of the vehicle typically in a amp install or other aftermarket style add on stereo install, would this be possible in your car?

well if you do not have the setup like was mentioned above a faulty ground or loose ground is most likely the causem i would start looking at the things that you have installed last since this is a recent development.

I've seen in the past noise caused by a alternator also.. But id check into the cabling before anything maybe even the harness itself. Check the contacts on the alt and battery... quick things to check before...

also do you only hear this noise when listening to a cd? if you turn the radio down all the way and give the car a lil gas do you notice any noise? If not i would suspect something w/ the cd change/cable...
