Link to the drag racing FAST TIMES page. Click link if you want to see who's got the fastest B/D Body, who's running what combo to achieve their times, and other great info to bench race with: http://www.top-et.com/impalass/

BTW, we moved! Check out the new Top-ET page at the link above. There are a few changes including the long awaited "weight" column. We are slowly working toward filling in that column as much as we can.

Hopefully the page should be a little easier to work with now. Dan is still in the process of tweaking things to make it run better.

I'd like to thank Dan Esteban for all the work he's put into this.
And of course I'd like to thank Karl Ellwein for coming up with the idea in the first place to create a database to record this kind of info.

Please update your bookmarks to direct to this page in the future.

cute John ;)
11.40 with a t56? is that the record. I would like to take a run at that if it is
Go for it! The 11.4 was a few years back. It took a lot of clutches, rear end parts and nitrous!
I have since switched back to a auto :(

I bet, I thought the trans would have been the weak link. What clutch did you end up with? I bought a twin disk mcloud for the new combo. hopefully the turbo will be easier on drive train parts

I had the most success with the spec stage 3.
3000 RPM launches on 26 x 10" slicks.
I tried the street twin but it was too harsh on the launch
and I broke an axle on the 2nd run. (Never broke axle with any other clutch)
Removed street twin after that debacle.
Good luck with yours. It was a nice clutch on the street but hell at the strip.

I was one or two cars behind Nab when he launched the Street Twin. Was that at Cecil County or NED? It sounded like a bomb went off and he sprayed the starting line with 4.56 parts like shrapnel! Sheer awesomeness! Of course at the time it sucked...:D
can i be first me me me i want a big dawg motor built.
Go for it! It's only money!

It was Cecil Cold weather day, Cecil March 19, 2005 where the air was cold, the DA in the. I ran my best time that day with my stock engine, 13.338 ET, I was stocked and had the need for speed ever sense. But I have to say watching Nabil car leave the line and the whole thing shuttered and then came to a fast stop.
But over the years Nabil has blown allot of drive train components up -1200 and the track sticky.

I would call him the stress limit doctor or Doctor Distruction
why is it that i've tried to add my timeslip to this about 20 times over the last few years and it always says page moved or not found?
Can someone make a correction on the ET page?

My entry (#12 Guillaume Charest) has the wrong 60' time... should have read 1.509 instead of 1.609.

Thanks! :)

Congratulations Guillaume. It looks like you have rockin n rollin. And emphasis on rollin fast :)

Thanks Mike!

I'm really happy with the results so far and glad all the hard work paid off. cwm7
Dido and glad a few of my spare parts are part of your combo. I think one other thing that others may not get is I total believe what you claim the car weighs. The higher the weight the more MPH you have to run for the same ET a much lighter car will run at a slower MPH.

Still only a handful of 9 second Impalas and even less that you can really still drive for any distance.

Nice work and I'm sure you're not done!!
Congrats getting into the 9s

Congrats Guillaume getting into the 9s. Major accomplishment for a heavy four door sedan. What does the HP calculator say based on MPH and weight in the 1/4?

Yeah it's that heavy. It still have a full interior, stock bumper support (drive it on the street too often to change them to lightweight race supports), etc...

I had it weight on a government scale at 4104 lbs with me in it and a full tank of fuel before I went turbo. Since then i've added two turbos, lots of piping, intercooler, water/meth injection kit, etc. So it must weight at least 4200 lbs now.

It ran a couple extra MPH because I turned on the spray at the 1/8 mile to see how it ran with it. I had the 75 hp jets in there. Without the spray it might have ran 138-139 mph.

Based on this one: http://www.wallaceracing.com/et-hp-mph.php

Your Horsepower computed from your vehicle weight of 4200 pounds and MPH of 141.2 is 971.78.

I think it's very optimistic. :p
I wouldn't say it's terribly optimistic. Pretty close.
Here's the one that has always correlated best to my own vehicles' dyno pulls and mph at the track, from the CherryBomb website:
http://turbo400.com/cherry/HP_Calculator/body_hp_calculator.html
"Approximate Horsepower Results
Your car weighs 4200 pounds and can complete the 1/4 mile at 141.2 MPH. That means that you've got about 959.2 HP at the flywheel, and about 786.6 HP at the wheels."
It assumes only an 18% drivetrain loss; yours would be slightly higher, so you're in the high 900's with that 75 shot.

You may want to get it on a scale as I bet it's more than 4200 if you now have two turbos and nitrous tank and all the other stuff. Unless you took weight out of the wheels or the 4100 was when it still had AC? If you changed nothing but added the other stuff it's weighs more than 4200.

I wish the HP calculators had an addition for superchargers to account for blower drag. Turbos don't need that but superchargers have to account for the additional HP loss in the engine. You can see that by fuel load to the motor and then know what the actual HP level is in the engine.
