Yes...neslon racing...and Very Expensive...double the price...but...if i do it again...and i am...on my next impala...i will get the mirror image turbos

anyway...do the Turbo pipes look that bad? for not having a mirror image turbo?

Mirror Image Like These?

And Yes Scott, for not having mirror image turbos, your piping looks very nice! I hope to at least match your quality/aesthetics....someday.

Finally got some time to update my Radiator....Everywhere/everyone i looked/asked for best Radiator for our cars...pointed me towards Ron Davis.

I asked for the Latest and Greatest that they have for our Cars....this is what i Got? and a Large Bill!! But well worth it i see!!!

I learned the hard way...do it right the First Time...otherwise it will cost you triple down the Road!!!!

Great looking radiator. Could you give me specific info regarding your fan setup, including the stainless shroud? REALLY nice looking work!

I'm putting in an upgraded radiator and I want to upgrade the fans as well.

Thank you

I think Tad likes to tune boosted Lt1 cars with speed density, which would mean no maf sensor.

LT1 PCM is severely limited on high air flow MAF headroom
with the LT1 F-body MAF and say 8 PSI...
the air flow will find the end of the MAF HZ to AFGP table very rapidly
the table runs out of range / bandwidth / headroom just when thing start to get interesting :)

In the old days we would rely heavy on the PE enrichment table and the boosted motor would live there in PE.
with zero resolution your just dumping buckets fuel indiscriminately to keep it from breaking
In MAF mode you have two AFRs... 14.7 and PE thats it.
and only one spark advance setting at WOT regardless if it is 1 PSI or 30 PSI.

2bar Speed density can be set up for a sexy boost enrichment curve and boost spark retard curve.

*MAF selection can vary this issue greatly but I have yet to see a MAF work past 600 wheel in person on a LT1 ECU
.....Jeff Green????
I have played hard and built custom MAFs a decade ago.
and 2BAR just works awesome and no custom parts need to be built

on a side note EFI connection with a Gen4 58x PCM the mafs will work into the high 600 Wheel mark.
And the LS7 / LS3 credit car maf has resolution in a huge 4" plus pipe.
At that point just order a LSX376-B15 and a E-Rod harness, 3BAR / MAF custom HPTuners OS....
skip all the oil leaks and collect 800RWHP.

Thanks for the Info and Extra Info,

I did fail to mention I am running an LS1 PCM and EFI Connection's 24x system on my LT1 Car...but no MAF will clean things up for my piping.

I currently have a 2-Bar MAP sensor I may upgrade to 3 if needed.

If things work out, and you Tad are available...I may be making a trip out your way for some tuning next year....

It can be done using a MAF and a OBD1. I'm surprised you have only seen it work to 600 RWHP.

You have to use a GM that can be rescaled. Have that flowed in your air tube and calibrated for your real air flow and our cars. Chop all your tables in 1/2 or 1/3 and that stops you from maxing it out on the GPS.

There are a few more things to it but the point is it will work. Even with only a one bar map but I totally agree a 2 bar or even 3 is better.

I even used a ford MAF for several years until I was able to scale a GM MAF. The Ford used voltage but was able to be scaled. I had a convertor box made to change volts to HZ so the OBD liked it. Glad that is no longer needed. The current GM MAF plugs into our factory MAF plug on our Impalas and you need nothing else.

It works on my car at over 2000 CFM or 1500HP or 20 PSI using the factory 1 bar MAP and it drives fine. You have to spend a lot of hours to really fine tune it but I know it's better for the dual purpose Street/Strip than SD. So to me it's worth the extra effort. The reason the one bar works is because at that HP level you need very little throttle to drive the car and the blower doesn't really build boost until the higher RPM's. So your combo of parts or what you're using plays into it working.

Bottom line is it can and does work.

Great Information, Thank you Jeff. Right now I'm planning and building for either setup. It will all depend on tuning abilities and spending the time to get it right!
