I see lots and lots of Caprices, a few Roadmasters, and the occasional SS in my area, but I've only ever seen one Fleetwood. Are they really that rare? Just how many were made?

Yep, they made less than any of the other B bodies, with less produced each year.

That rarity makes finding & buying one hard for a lot of people, but it also creates a cool factor on the road second to none--since you never see yourself, and people are almost always admiring you (only cars I actually get comments and questions on in parking lots, gas stations, etc.).

Thanks for the posting! I had the 95/6 numbers but not the 93/4 counts.

Now I just need Roadmaster sedan numbers..... ;)

Actually, now that I recall, those production numbers are NOT correct, at least according to our Factory information source--Sandy--on the other Cadillac board.

He lists the specs as:

1996 Cadillac Fleetwood RWD Complete Production Statistics

15,105 Grand Total All
Further Breakout:-
10,003 Brougham Model
03,333 Base Model
01,769 Other *
15,105 Grand Total

*= Other. Includes To Limousine Convertor as an "Incomplete Vehicle" also
to a Hearse Convertor, as well as to a Flower Car Convertor. Also includes Livery Cars, "Black Car Service Companies" and U.S. Government Spec Cars.

There was no seperation breakout in 1995 between the Base Fleetwood and the Fleetwood Brougham, as in 1995 the "Brougham" was listed by Cadillac as an OPTION, rather than a seperate model. The Brougham Option was viewed no differently than any other normally released optional accessory.

any new vehicles would match the remainder of their fleets, such as Flower Cars, Family Cars, and Hearses.

There were no cars prepaired BY Cadillac and shipped BY Cadillac to aftermarket convertors. However a couple hundred of the above were purchased from dealers, and then in private hands were turned over to aftermarket convertors to be made into 6-door sedans, limousines, hearses and flower cars. When Cadillac saw the demand, they jumped into the market beginning with the 1994s. As you can see, Black Sapphire & Platinum were standard colors for 1993, but were discontinued after that. They were popular with the aftermarket, thusly the Special Order colors that followed in 1994, 1995 and 1996, using them, plus the Academy Gray that was popular with aftermarket convertors in 1992.

When I was looking into these stats prior to making my purchase, I also found Brackets numbers of 12,596 for the 1996 model year. When checking further, I then found DBeaSSt's numbers of 15,105. Either way, its still small production numbers which does make these cars rare.

I know! It would be cool to track one of those down, but as is the corporate policy, whatever few were made each year are likely still out there, but repainted white.

The representatives can buy them at the end of the term, I believe, and keep them as is, but if they get turned in as usual, they don't want their trademark color just out there floating around for anyone to have, so they always get resprayed and sent to auction.

Still have never even seen pics of one...

Wow, that's some detailed info, thanks!

Question though. Looking at the 95 listing (since that's what I have) I don't see Medium Marblehead Metallic listed. Now I'm assuming Slate Green is DGGM so I'm assuming Fawn Grey Metallic is the color?

</font>[/QUOTE]Yep, you're right. Though the same code, the color was called Medium Marblehead by Chevy, and maybe Buick (not sure), but Cadillac almost always used unique names when on their cars--hence, yours and mine are what is called Fawn Grey. I refer to it as either, sometimes, but the true Cadillac name is as listed here.

They did the same with their gold/beige, and others, just to make the colors sound a bit more unique and classy.

Wow. My 94 is rarer than I thought, it is a Brougham, and of my color, "01,945 - Frost Beige Metallic", and mine is a V4P car. With every option that I can find, save 5.

Missing:
Astroroof
Homelink
Full Size Spare
Sungate Windshield
Chrome Wheels

I have always been curious on the breakdown of how many cars got V4P.

Still I am amazed how many 93-96's I see. There is a near twin to mine around here with a dark thicker padded roof (aftermarket conversion?), I think a 93. I see it on the highway a lot when I am heading to work coming the other way. I know where he lives even. There is also a twin to mine too about 8 houses down (they never let it out of the garage, I think I have only seen it once). Same color, not sure what year. What are the chances? I parked next to one at church Sunday night, which also surprised me, same color as BCs71's. (sharp color!)

I guess unless your Fleetwood is black or white then it is pretty rare in the realm of FW ownership by model year!

Thanks for the info. I had no idea so few were made, although it makes sense. I missed out on a black one a year ago. It was parked for sale here locally, and was gone two days later(before I even had a chance to get a close look at it :( ). Must have been a great deal for someone...

Cool break down! It looks like the dark green fleetwoods are really rare!

Does anyone have the color break down to B bodies too?
(Non impalas, they got them broken down)

but what about r1p fwb like mine its triple black but is it sable black if it is then why aren't there any notes next to the sable black production in 95.

caddyguy is there a way to find out how many R1P'S were produced throughout the years.

this thread is definetly being saved...great info.

Doesn't triple black just mean it has Black paint, Black top, and Black interior? But the color was Sable Black.

Good question. All this info is from our resident source "Sandy" over on the Cadillac board, and I can't be 100% sure, but from what I remember I think he said there wasn't a break down of what was produced with what options (other than model, like base/Brougham) for the years. Possible, but not listed anywhere accessible that I know of.
