Recently swapped in the 96 setup into my 95 caprice. Did it all including the Steering column. Don't have pics to post but then again it looks just like any other 96 Impala. Next to my Bonny seats and Z/28 cluster this has been one of my favorite mods. If you have the time, parts and know-how, I say...Do it, you won't be disappointed.

I've been thinking about a custom console and shifter also.
I've always wanted a Lightning Rods Shifter.

Not for my RMS, but maybe in another project:

Yes. They are expensive.

But, oh so cool! :)

Im leaning to custom fab a console, using one of these shifters

yea i think that i might have to do what you want to do, my column shifter broke on the inside of the column and now i cant shift, so i might as well go with a floor shifter because i dont want to replace the whole steering column. i wasnt too sure if i wanted a floor shifter but now that my column shifter broke, the logical thing to do and less expensive thing to do would be to install a floor shifter

Bonnies and a blazer in me 95 fleetwood.

I moved the t/c button from the glove box to a plate I made to cover the hole in the seat left by the original seat controls.

It will... you will need the console plate from the Camaro to patch into the console
where the cup holders were, bondo / fiberglass it together & paint it SEM trim black.
You`ll probably need to fab a bracket for the shifter to be raised high enough to work
properly. That`s what I did to my `95 DCM originally, then decided I wanted the
Hurst Pistol Grip Q-stick... I think it turned out OK...
