They look taller than the factory LCA's. Are they in fact taller, and if so, how much taller are they? The factory LCA is 2.75" (not including sway bar). I'd like to use these on my bagged RM, but if the bar sits below the frame at the front bushing, than I will need to look at other options. Anyone?

The guy from UMI is on this Forum now.
Just PM him and ask... you can find him in most of the threads that discuss their arms.

Thank you Rustic

Actually the stock lower control (Removed from a 94 Impala) is slightly taller where the bushing sits and slims down in the center and then gets taller where the second bushing sits. The tallest point of the stock control arm measures 3.000" while the center measures 2.750". With the stock sway bar plates on the control arm it measures 2.900".

Our control arms are built using 1.500" x 3.000" rectangular tubing, the most it would effect your sway bar is a .100 which is very minimal and would cause no issues.

If I can help anymore please ask. Thanks

Ryan

Thanks to Rustic & UMI for making LCA alternatives. I'd have purchased yours instead of these expensive GW's if I'd known about them. - Jim

Jimeau,

Why? I am looking at every option for my LCA's and would like for a little more info as to why you don't care for the GW's

Thanks,
Dave

I have the UMI LCA's and the Hotchkis wagon rear bar on my '95 RMW Limited. No problems installing or with function. Will be doing the UMI UCA's soon. Buy their bolt kit and save a couple of trips to everyplace that does not have what we need. Enjoy!

Dave - They have no provision for lubricating the spherical bearings in the front of the arm (Rustic's supposedly will). Several people now have reported the bearings wearing out & rattling after a couple/three seasons of daily driver use. GW supposedly will fix a bad bearing, but you have to send them the arm & wait. I expected more durability for the big coin these things cost.
