Back on topic,almost all of the data is being restored,which is great,there is prolly something I was once looking for. As far as other changes,let's see if it has matured and mellowed like fine wine,or if it will be "business as usual".

Yes, unfortunately we will not have the chance to include data from computers which get never connected to the internet. But from our authorization system we know that this is the case for less then 2% of all computers which run Live so we hope this will not bias the data to much.

They are still breaking it down. it needs to be converted and takes a lot of time. we had to outsource it, but he is contract and has other things to do so it will take time.

This is the latest update. I have been badgering them about it behind the scenes. This was posted 6/23/14 in the mod section. Evidently it needs to be converted again...

- coming up on 9 years since the changeover. I could swear I've gotten web search results resembling old BBS style format of pre-'09 threads, but wondering status of any/all recovery of great data loss (actually, intentional deletion) on this forum.

There is a lot of pre July 2009 information. Just go to Forums and pick a topic, then go to last page. In the topics I have checked they work back to 2000.


The issue is the time period around July 2009. Try to look at some posts and there is no data.


I too have found the worm hole of text only forum.


The real problem seems to be the Google Custom Search. It seems to like new posts over old ones. It will refuse to show old posts but will show unrelated new stuff. I have had to use outside search engines to "re find" old posts. On some things I have just had to read post topics and then read the ones that might help.
