I have read some posts on the fuel pump testing and changing.
I posted last week that my car could not start. The pump did not turn on with the key in the ON position. Now the pump turns on 2 weeks later since I decided to check. I already have a new pump that I have bought and was about to replace. Before I go through the whole ordeal may I ask if a pump can intermittently work.
The first occurrence of no start was in the morning before going to work so the pump was not hot from running.

Yes they can be. I'd check the fuel pressure 1st and if good [41-47 PSI key on engine off] then I'd start checking the fuse, relay, wiring harness, etc... The rear harness where it goes into the fuel pump sending unit and the in tank harness often burns slightly. If doing the pumpl always check these harnesses and replace as neccesary.
