Original fuel pump was no longer priming up so i installed a new one. Now i can tell the difference when im driving much better throttle response but the pump is not priming up all the time when i go to start the car. I hear it sometimes and sometimes i dont. Did i get a bad fuel pump or is it another problem.

What do you mean it is not priming up? If your car starts quickly and you have adequate fuel pressure (tested?), there is no cause for concern. When was your fuel filter last changed?

Do a fuel pressure test - $15 at Harbor Freight will buy a good one. Also check under hood fuse and relay. Tons of info on this site. BTW - what is your car?
