Have you actually checked the linkage at the throttle body for obstructions? Did this start after changing your intake maybe?

I would try to get some graphite lube and spray both ends of the cable, and work it a few times.

Something similar here--the gas pedal on my dad's '92 Roadmaster is also strangely stiff and hard to push, and really makes it seem sluggish because you have to press into it so firmly--definately stiffer than the one in our '93 FWB too.

Being that these cars mainly sold to older people when new, I could never understand how little "Aunt Betty" would have ever had the strength to push the pedal like it is in this Buick.

Every L03/ L05 car I have driven had a stiff pedal. Even on TBI trucks.

My 91 and 96 wagons both feel the same. So which one is not right?

Hmm, must be true. Like I said, the one on our '93 Fleetwood isn't as stiff like the rock-hard one on the '92 Roadmaster is, and the pedal on the '95 FWB LT1 I drove last week seemed just a tad softer than my '93 FWB.

Wonder why they chose such a stiff spring? Just makes the car feel that much more sluggish, in an indirect sort of way....very much unlike both the Avalanche we did have and Suburban we now have that have such a soft and springy accelerator, you have to be careful not to smoke the tires from every stop.

The 89 car I have now is much stiffer than the 89 I had. I too wonder what's up with that.

Try changing the throttle cable assembly. The cable wears into the sheath creating excess friction. D.
