It wasn't as bad as I expected. I was able to do everything from the top of the engine.
This includes R&R spark plugs, wires, cap&rotor and O2 sensor. Took it out for a spin once all was done as she runs much better than before. This is the first real tune-up it has had and has ~73.5K miles. I had the spark plugs changed about 4 years ago and they didn't look too bad, but definately needed to be replaced. The contacts on the distibutor cap and rotor was very corroded with little black streaks which are probably ion trails. I spent a total of $96.86 for parts and I probably saved $200 in labor. I really gotta hand it to the guy's that do this stuff for a living, because it is not easy to do. It really makes me sad that CS majors make so much more money than Mechanics. Well, I'm going to go to bed now as I am starting to feel the effects of may labors today. Next Saturday I get to flush the coolant and change the oil, not to mention wash it. Whoo-hoo...it's gonna be loads of fun. I know you guy's are jealous.

What model year caprice is it? The 94-96 cars are a real PITA to change the plugs and wires on due to the location of the OptiSpark and the way the exhaust is.

It's a '92 Caprice Classic. Sorry for leaving that out in my first post. I didn't mean to mislead anyone. I know the LT1 tune up can be a real pain, as I have a '94 Z28 and I have to let a mechanic with a lift do it.
