Technotronic the radio you have looks newer than our cars. If you know what GM the radio came from check with that forum. They will know more about that radio than we might.

There may be a plug in adapter.

Different GM radios have been "hacked" with different approaches Some have cut into the in radio CD wiring and have to have a CD running. Others do the same to the in radio tape deck. Some of the CD decks will plug into a optional external tape deck. The flaw on these approaches is that the CD or tape mechanism must function and remains running. When they wear out you have lost the feature.

The other method is to find the radio audio and cut the wires or circuit board traces.

There are downsides to both methods The first is that the radio amp needs more volume than most earphone devices can supply. This results in adding a preamp (of GOOD quality) to even out the volume between the radio audio and external audio.

The second issue is that some devices may burn out themselves or the radio if they are charged while connected to the radio. This is to do with a difference between the car's ground and the external audio device's audio ground. Rare but not worth the risk. I burnt out a few Bluetooth modules before I found a more expensive work around this issue.

My "pet pev" with most conversions is the connector and sometimes a switch being on the face of the radio. The ones I have done use a remote audio connector and switch. If the switch is easy to use it can be used as a mute switch and if you hide the audio wiring it is one less reason for the car to be broken into.

Without out going inside,
The 95-96 theftlock impala am fm cassette could run an Ipod adapter through the factory aux plug.
The 95-96 am fm cd could not.
If a person wanted am fm cd that could the last year or two (2000-2002) Camaro -S10 radio looked the same and was capable.
This is what I have with a PAC plug in adapter.
On a good day it would work seamlessly controling the ipod from the radio.
Some days it will get moody and the ipod has to be unpluged and reset, so to speak.
It would always play, just sometimes control from the radio face was lost.
A quick search comes up with little.
Seems they might not make the adapters anymore .
As for going inside the radio to make direct connection, I have nothing to offer.
