back off the throttle :D

there's so much drag that it doesnt take it too long to stop...

imagine how much drag there is if it can only do 90 mph with a 740hp BBC in a 1500 lbs boat cwm3

It will do mid/upper 90's. Jet boats are old school technology. This same engine could propel a 27-foot Fountain or Donzi (three+ times the weight) to the same speed, if not more.

Guillaume is right. When you back off the throttle the momentum sending you forward is just as intense as the thrust when taking off at wide open throttle.

I have a few friends that are speedboat nuts... but they usually prefer the performance of a 350 hp outboard Talon or Hydrostream (100+ mph pretty easy).

Personally, I prefer the jetboat... there's just something about them... (like the sound of a cammed big block with headers pointing upwards cwm4 )

Do you have pics? more vids?

that thing is cool as hell!!! cwm7

Talon or Hydrostream FTW! I also like the Allisons.

The wildest ride I have ever been in was an STV tunnel hull. It was a Mercury 250, not stock but a $18,000 race motor. Due to high winds I could not see anything after I saw the speedometer hit 112. The driver had goggles on and said we hit 117 that day.

I think I have one more video of this boat, but no pics. I'll post the vid up soon.

Fountain is in bankruptcy....again.

Your neighbors on the lake must luv the boat too but who cares?

Yea, I heard about the bankruptcy....again. I guess it's hard to sell $300k+ boats in a slow economy.

Surprisingly I have never heard of a complaint so far due to a boat. There may have been one or two deputies show up due to loud music, loud drunks, and fireworks at 2 AM. I'm not sure who was responsible for that...

I sure hope that catch that bastard. :)
