This is not for my Impala but for my Jetta Wagon.

That being said, I have a Kenwood DVD that I want installed and wonder if anyone know a good install shop in the San Diego area?

I drive the Jetta about 2000 miles/month so I'll be looking for a good and fast installer.

Anyone?

Thanks,
Mike

If you can’t seem to come up with a highly recommended independent shop, then try the Al & Ed’s in La Mesa. I generally like to use independent shops but I could only find very expensive shops on the one end and hole-in-the wall joints on the other end, not much in the middle. Big electronic chain stores are never an option for me anymore.

Al & Ed’s is a small SoCal car audio chain store, so installation can be hit or miss depending on where you go and what installer happens to be there…they do share resources and clients between locations. They seem to have good retail service across shops.

Anyway, it seems to me that they have their more experienced installers working at the La Mesa location. When I was at that location getting an amp rack built, there were some nice cars and lifted trucks getting work done, so that location does seem to have clients who care about the quality of the install.

Other shops I have seriously considered using include Street Noiz and Progressive Mobile Electronics, both located near the Sports Arena. Street Noiz products were pricey (at the upper limit of what I wanted) and Progessive didn't have the products I was looking for. I had a friend who worked at Progressive several years ago, back then he said they also did installs on service vehicles like police cars.

For this application, I don't need any product, just installation.

Sounds like I shoud give Street Noiz or Progressive a call.

Thanks,
Mike

HA HA!! Circuit City once put a CD into my Toyota truck (sold long ago). As I drove home the dash caught fire. Luckily I had a fire extinguisher and put it out.

But it fried my fusable link so I was stranded.

Long story short, I got a free CD unit and install. But never again will I go there.
