Can anyone provide GM part numbers for the front F-car ('70 - '81) heavy duty (1.25"/32mm) sway bar? I got p/n 356534 for the front bar from Scott Mueller's write-up, but GM Parts Direct doesn't recognize that number as valid.

Also, is there an accompanying rear bar that's thicker than the stock '96 Impala rear bar that should be used with this one?

I have used the search function but was not able to locate this information.

Thanks for your help folks.

The bar has not been available from GM for several years now. Only option for a GM one is to find it in the junkyard.

You can sometimes find an f-bar off ebay, or in the FS section here. The junkyard will be much cheaper, but you can occasionally find the right bar on ebay for under $50, I did, and mine was beadblasted.

Here's a couple
</font>Sometimes there's more for sale. Just make sure to get an accurate reading if you're going through ebay. As for the rear bar, too many choices, really a personal thing. The biggest seems to be the HO bar, a lot of people like Hotchkiss, and every so often you hear a reference to Quickor, who'll make any size you want. There's more, but swaybar setup depends on your driving style and needs. And remember, if increasing the size of the front bar, you'll need new bushings, and why not get new endlinks too?

I got mine from HO industries. I hear that Global West sells them too.
