OK, we all know how it goes.
New head unit and small amp going in.
You look at that one bulb that's burned out behind the Headlamp Switch Panel.
(1996 Service Manual 8C-23)
E-Z fix while its apart.
The bulb is in a 1/2 turn socket. Remove. This assembly is not available anymore.
The lamp itself is a Micro Lamp 12V 60ma Wire Terminal. Radio Shack 2721092.
Unwind wires from the socket assembly, pull wires.
Reverse Assembly.
Light is on with the ignition.

It's the little things that keep these creatures alive.

This assembly is available it is just not cheap or easy. It can be found at some big electronic supplies. The bulb is not expensive but minimum orders and shipping costs suck.

The part number is CNW1-23, manufactured by JKL Components:
It comes in a replacement bulb holder.
16,000 hour life span vs. 10,000 hours for the Radio Shack bulb. Same rated brightness of 0.15 MSCP. Lamp Size: T - 1 1/4 MSCP: 0.15 MSCP Life Hours: 16000 Hrs Base: Neo-wedge 4.6

Another bulb only choice is the 8111 .065 A 14 V .15 MSCP 16000 Hr

The Radio Shack bulbs are 12V vs the original 14V. This makes them have a lesser life span than their rated 10 000 hours.

The CNW1-23 would make a great group purchase.

The need for the long life is that this bulb is connected to a ignition power circuit and is on when the car is running.

There is a direct fit bulb assembly you can buy at a Honda dealer, I've used one before I changed to an LED. I can get you the Honda part number if you need it or do a search on here and you should come up with it as I did several years ago.

If it bothers someone to have to replace a bulb every few years then switch it to the LED and forget about it. If you have the twilight sentinel the LED ddoesnt light up the sentinel portion very good but it does the headlight portion very well. I used a black sharpie to color the top and backside of the clear reflector to make the LED work best.
